These photographs represent renewal. They come from a part of town down by the quay where industry and shipping were once king at the start of the last century. Then the industry died off and left rusting, dilapidated warehouses and dirty factories which continued to rotted for decades. Then renewal came in the last decade of the millennium and the landscape was transformed by glass and steel. Rust and dirt gave way to concert halls and art galleries. These pictures show a roof designed like a sea against the sky. The city always renews itself. No city is the finished product, it is always a work in progress.
